On February 4, the Chinese New Year cycles to the Year of the Black Water Snake (note that the observed holiday is on February 10). The energy of Snake explores the infinite possibilities available to us this year. Your shadow side will be explored this year – beliefs and emotions requiring healing will readily come to the fore. Be aware! Snake may present deceptive energy. Question everything and test all things against your inner voice. You may also find the need to withdraw within and ‘hibernate’ as you internalise your healing journey.

Your healing journey is your own – where you are the navigator, driver and vehicle all at once. Healing yourself involves divine understanding. It creates higher frequencies as your atoms and molecules change in their vibration and moves you into new cycles of growth. Although healing is a personal and individual journey, we (humanity, the Earth, The Universe) are all healing together. By following your own inner light, together you contribute to raising the vibration of everything. Makes it all worthwhile, doesn’t it?

H – Health – What does health and being healthy mean to you? I usually prefer to use the word “wellbeing” as many cultural and societal beliefs about health are impressed on us from birth. To achieve wellbeing, bring your focus to each of your bodies – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Where are your strengths and your weaknesses? E – Emotional Release – Your body holds onto unreleased emotions – burying them deep within your very cells. As the emotions ‘age’, they begin to create dis-ease within your body. Ask your own body where the pain truly resides –not just the symptoms – and ask it to release the pain, grief, hurt, shame, anger, embarrassment or fear with total ease. Energy Healing systems, such as Reiki, are very useful in revealing where blockages and dis-ease are located within your body. A – Action – Take action with your healing journey and follow through with your commitment to yourself. Seek out like-minded people who can share their experiences – both similar and separate from your own. Every story, every step contributes to the holistic approach you are seeking for your healing. If you revert to old habits, be gentle with yourself and take up the “Healer, Heal Thyself” mantle once again. There are so many ways to navigate your path – Colour Therapy, Reiki, Access Consciousness, Yoga, Astrology, Meditation, Palmistry, Numerology, just to name a few. They are all tools to help you discover your strengths, weaknesses and karmic debt.
L – Loving Self – The most important aspect of any healing journey is the love developed for self. Your longest relationship is the one you have with yourself – do you know yourself truly? Encourage this relationship as you would with anyone else! This means discovering what you value, activities you adore completing, speaking to yourself as you would a valued friend. Make time for your relationship by choosing to spend time with yourself – take a walk, see a movie, meditate, write in a journal. Regularly give yourself compliments too (even writing yourself a love letter!) – tell yourself just how amazing, talented, gifted and powerful you truly be!
Take responsibility for your healing journey. It is unique and uncharted – like YOU. Remember, every day is an opportunity to create new choices and opportunities. Every choice – how you act and react – ultimately leads to more choices. Make each choice magical!
